Default RE: 2001 Taurus Headlight Removel

I had to change the headlights on my 99. There was a diagram in the manual. On mine there was a plastic housing that held the light bulb in place. I had to unscrew that by hand and then pull the light out and plug it into the connector. It was difficult because there was not much space to work with. I'm not positive theprocedure for your 01 wouldbe the same, but check the manual to be certain.

3. NOTE: When installing, make sure the headlamp assembly is positioned correctly so that it aligns with the boss and the holes of the reinforcement.
NOTE: Make sure the headlamp wiring harness does not get caught between the headlamp and grille opening reinforcement. If it does, position the harness free of all mounting points.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
