Default 2002 door lock actuator

Trying to replace pass front actuator on 2002 Taurus. Do not see any rivet or bolt. Am I missing something? The new one looks like it slips in a bracket. The acuator does move and doesn't appeared to be secured with a rivet or bolt.

There should be a rivet holding the bracket to the door metal. You can get the actuator out of the plastic brackets if you are careful and keep the rubber bushings that go on each side that holds it tightly in the holder. Good luck.

I guess I'm way too old to. My days of fooling with doors are crank up windows and manual locks. So you are saying that I can remove the actuator from the bracket without removing the riveted bracket?

Sorry, I should have researched first.

Door Lock Actuator
Removal and Installation

Remove the door ajar switch.
NOTE: When installing the door lock actuator, the actuating lever must engage the actuating pin.

Remove the door lock actuator.
Lift the locking tab.
Slide the actuator off the latch assembly.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
