We bought our mother a 2004 Taurus SE for Christmas. There is no passenger door lock. The car did not come with keyless remotes as it was a rental return not bought from a Ford dealer. The Ford website says keyless remote is standard. I bought a new remote from my local dealer and followed the instructions in the owners manual. Nothing happened. I took it to the local Ford dealer and they did the same procedure and nothing happened. That service tech says it doesn't have keyless remote. Is it possible Ford built some 2004 Taurus SE models with no passenger door key lock, keyless entry pad or no keyless remote? Is there any way to obtain a copy of the build sheet from Ford using the vin #? Thank you for your assistance.

 

I have a 2003 taurus ses and it does not have a key pad. I believe that is for the top end model the sel. As for the keyless remote I'm not sure it was standard with the low end model, might be an option? There are after market remotes you can get and install if all else fails.My vehicle came with a remote and it was a rental car from hertz. I hope this will help out some.Oh yes one more thing.The driver door on all models of tauruses just have the key entry on the driver door.
