2k5 Taurus P0316 issues
Hello...Newb here fighting a 2005 ford taurus.. 3.0 v6 sohc...
Car started exihibiting high idle and a miss starting at roughly 4000rpm... It basically pulses on and off...Almost like hitting a rev limiter... also the car can be difficult to start initially...
Car has a whole 40,000 miles on it..
I pulled codes and all I got was a p0316.Which says misfire detected at startup... So following that logic I replaced Plugs(looked decent**No coolant or fouling), wires(I did this simply to eliminate them from the equation), I replaced the Ignition coil(After reading other boards seemed like a likely culprit)...None of these made any difference...
Going from past experience Im now grabbing at straws. I would assume if it was a mass air flow issue that I would get a code other than po316...I suppose it could be fuel related like a clogged filter or bad fuel pump**But what Ive noticed is that the problem is there and the same reguardless if im just revving the engine unloaded or driving it...If the fuel pump was giving out or filter was clogged I would assume that under a load the car would run worse.. My only other guess would be a cam or crank sensor..But again I would assume much like mass air if that was sending a bad signal Id get a code saying so...
Any thoughts/input on this..

RE: 2k5 Taurus P0316 issues
Well, the P0316 is no reason to replace anything on the car. That code says misfire on first 30 seconds on engine runtime. Unless you have a miss at idle, not a problem. The other sounds like you might be hitting the rev limiter on this motor. The hard start could be the IAC motor starting to stick and could also give you a high idle. Just my .02 worth.
