95 Taurus SHO
1.) When you turn cruise control on, is there a light on the dash that says it's on? If so, where is it?
2.) At one time, when I had the emergency brake on, it would automatically disengage when I put the shifter in 'D'. For some reason it stopped doing this and now I have to manually pull the lever to turn the e-brake off. Is there a bad switch somewhere?
3.) This car is fun! 197k miles and it's still pulling hard!
Thank you for any ideas on the above 2 questions.

Hello and good day to you:
1. I believe that the early models do not have a Light indicating it is on....My question is...If your Cruise Control is working...why would be concern about a Light being on.
2. I have never heard of such a thing....Let me clearly understand this..."you put the E-brake on after you stoop'ed the car..put the Shift Selector into Park"? Then when you get back into the car "you start the car...Place the Shift Selector into Drive, and the E-brake disengages"???
3. Glad to here the car is still going strong.
Let me do some digging into #2, and get back to you soon
Thank you 6

1.) There is no real 'concern' of not having the light, other than just knowing if there is supposed to be one. If its a matter of a light bulb out, I'd like to replace it. If it never had one, then no big deal. But it's hard to imagine there not being one... especially with a dummy light showing 'lamp out'.
2.) Yes, you have the idea. I always thought the automatic emergency brake release was pretty nifty. Until one day, I didnt hear the thump of the foot pedal when I placed the gear selector into 'D'. It wouldn't do it in 'N' or even 'R', just in drive.
Thanks for your time!
In your experience, (or anyone elses), are the stock radios in these cars pretty good? The back speakers have an amp... but do they really go boom boom? My volume down rocker button on the radio stopped working, and I can only lower the volume using the dash controls... which means I cant play around with bass, treble, or balance/fade.

When you Place the car into drive you press the Brake pedal...and the Emg-Brakes release...is this correct?
Here is what I found so far.....
A solenoid parking brake release assembly (10) for setting a parking brake (12) and automatically releasing the parking brake (12) includes a lever (26) connected to the foot pedal (28) for rotating a rack portion (30) upon depression thereof. The rack portion (30) coacts to rotate a gear (46) about which is a torsion spring (54) which frictionally grips the gear (46) to maintain same in a rotated position. The torsion spring (54) includes a first end connected to the core element (66) of a solenoid (64) such that upon energization of the solenoid (64), the core element (66) is drawn into the solenoid (64) which releases the frictionaly grip on the gear (46) allowing the parking brake (12) to be released. The solenoid (64) is energized by the gear voltage from the gear selector (14) of a vehicle transmission when the ignition is on, the parking brake (12) is depressed, and one of the forward or reverse gears are selected. I need to dig into my manuals on this one to see if there may be a Switch or a Mechanical device that disengages the E-Brake..Will Advise.....6
