Default cd player in taurus

I have a 1999 taurus and the radio has buttons for a cd and to scan 6 cds but I can not find the player or slot to put the cds in. I have looked every where that I can think of but nothing is found. Does anyone know where it can be on the car?

Thanks

It may have the ablity to have a 6 cd player in it. Just may have been an option that the dealer did not install in the car. I work for a car audio place in Costa Mesa California. Alot of the newer cars have the input on the back of the radio just needs the cable and changer.

There is a changer that I can get for that car that is about 300 bucks. Honestly I would consider getting an iPod. This is what is replacing cd changers and making them more expensive. With the iPod you can have up to 60 gigs of music with you at all times. There is an adapotr for your car that can link your iPod directly into your radio to give you the digital sound. This item is about 200 bucks plus what ever iPod you would want to get.

Most likely if there was a changer it would have been put in the trunk. But if you can't find one, then most likely it didn't come with that option. Put the radio was set up so if you wanted it, it would work. Cheaper as a manufacturer to just have 1 style radio then have 2 different types.

In fact I'm considdering an iPod.
Problem is i can't figure out what is realey needed to connect it.
Information on the internet says requirements are a CD-changer (don't have that one) a factory radio with CD-changer control (It is indeed factory installed) a rear control unit in the trunk (found it hidden behind a pannel) or a JBL sound system (also dont have).

Have jou experience in installing an iPod adapter in a Taurus.
What do i have to look for (like radio serial/part number etc.)
