Clicking noise coming from passenger dash area
I havea 2008 Taurus. After starting the car there is a clicking noise coming from the dashboard area towards the passenger side. It lasts about 15-20 seconds then stops. It happens everytime I start the car. any suggestions?

Does the clicking start again if you change the temperature settings? If it does, there is a blend door actuator under the center area of the dash that is known for stripping the little plastic gears inside it. It is a little plastic box about 3 inches by 4 inches with wiring going to it.

I have a similar issue. Tried to change temperature setting, no noise. Mine clicks when started, goes away after a few seconds, but is intermitent. Also, mine seems more focused under the drivers dash toward center console. Is there a relay up in there? That's what it sounds like.

Same problem
The clicking in my right dash goes on for 5 to 20 seconds every time I start the car. If I close the "outside air" button , it stops, but will start again as soon as I open it. Would this be the same accentuator problem mentioned above. The Ford dealer suggested to me that because it is so difficult to access this area (apparently the mechanics have to lay on their backs in an uncomfortable position) it could cost upwards of 4 hours labour to fix. Seems ridiculous to me. Any suggestions as to how to replace the accentuator and what to order.

There is a wealth of info here regarding blend doors and heater systems for certain Fords.
