Electrical issues 2000 taurus..
All i do is sigh, when i think about this car. The only thing it really had going for it, is its got good airconditioning.....
Anyway-hubby left lights on when coming home from work. We charged the battery overnight and when i came out the next morning, the charger showed 100%..so popped it into the car, and started up fine. About 5 miles down the road the air con went warm, the car started going a bit nutty, the tach going up and down, the engine revving. I turned off the A/c at the dash...and it seemed better. I decided to get home before i was stranded somewhere, and made it about 3 miles before the revving started, and the car started acting crazy again..i parked in the nearest lot, which happened to be pepboys auto part/service. I called hubby, and we decided it would be best to have pepboys look at it, seeing as it was already there. So, half a day later, theyre telling me it needs battery, alternator and a large fuse blew. 450 dollars. I was skeptical, my husband didnt think that was the problem either..we managed to get the car home-it started up and ran fine...he looked under the hood, and noticed the battery cables werent tightened enough (probably from me) and the garage hadnt bothered to even see if this was the problem. Drove the car several times today, with no starting problems. several fuses are blown, however and when we try to use the a/c it almost bogs down and will kill the engine if i dont switch it off, the radio is off, the interior lights etc. we can replace the fuses obviously, but am wondering what is causing the fuses to blow? anyone? sorry for the long story..
