With your finger over the plug hole crank the engine over with the starter. I guess I didn't make that clear. Crank engine in short bursts, and stop cranking right when you feel the air pushed out. Most likely you'll over shoot zero degrees, and need to back the crank by hand a little. Use a screwdrive to find when the piston is at the top of the cylinder since there is no mark on the pully.

Unless you hook up a remote starter switch you will need a second person to perform this procedure.

have you ever heard of a remote starter switch? they allow you to move around some while reaching for that hole.
