Default Need Help Identifying what this part is

This part is located behind the glove box on a 2011 Ford Taurus. I looked around and couldn't find where it connects and have no clue why its here.

Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks.

Discovered through some digging o the net its a glove box check arm. Was able to reconnect it and now the door opens slowly versus dropping in your lap. Why it was disconnected to begin with is beyond me. Well at least 1 thing is fixed.
