Default Oil Pan Gasket 1997 Taurus

How hard is it to change an oil pan gasket on a 1997 Taurus? I do not have a lift in the garage, just jacks to work under. Thanks.

That is one of the easier ones to change. Take starter off and remove the dust shield in the transaxle and then just remove the pan. Just be sure to use jack stands to support the vehicle. The first time you may want to reserve a full afternoon just to be sure. After the first one is done, you can do them in just over an hour. Be sure the end gaskets are staying in place when installing. Do not over torque the bolts or it may push the end gaskets out. good luck.

That is good news to hear. I was worried about tackling this job and getting stuck with a car torn apart in the garage. Thanks for the input. It looks like we have a weekend project
