Does anyone have experience with troubleshooting the remote anti-theft personality (RAP) module? Thepower lockson my 99 Taurus stopped working with the remote entry fob.The locks wouldn't work with the buttons on the doors, either. I also started having a problem with the battery going dead. Then I realized the lock motors were staying energized and draining the battery. I unplugged the RAP and the locks started working with the buttons on the doors, and the battery drain stopped. The RAP receives the signal from the key fob, because I can hear the relays click. The trunk release button on the fob works.

Also, is it possible this would show any kind of trouble code on a code reader?

 

you'd have to have a ford factory scan tool to pull those codes, from your description i'd say it's probably the rap module, just make sure to check the power and grounds to it before you replace it
