Default Taurus pulling a Taurus

In a month or so, I'm planning on driving from S. Wisc. to Midland TX with my 04 Taurus DOHC pulling my 99 Taurus with one of those 'carts' that you drive the front wheels onto but the rear wheels stay on the ground. My Question is after I spend the money getting the hitch installed, flush the tranny and re-fill, and install an external tranny cooler, will this tranny hold up? The car has just under 210,000 on it, I have alway's changed the tranny fluid every 30,000 mi as long as I've owned this car. I bought it about 4 years and 100,000 miles ago.
Keep in mind it's now summer in MO,OK,and TX. tia
