88 Ford Tempo Stuttering
Engine stutters when gas pedal is pressed. i assumed it was either the fuel filter or the fuel pump. Have replaced both and it is still doing it. It gets really bad when going up hills but seems fine on straights as long as u don't push down on gas to much. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. My next step was going to be changing spark plugs and wires, but i would think that if it where one of those u would notice it even at idle.

To check the spark plugs and wires:
In the night, idle the engine and spray water all over the engine bay. If you see sparks flying it's time to replace plugs, wires and maybe rotor and cap.
Or take out the spark plugs and inspect them.
Also look for vacuum leaks, clean the throttle body and MAF sensor.
