Default Probe Fuel Filler & Vent Hose

Hello all,

I am the original owner of a 1989 Probe GT. I have recently had to replace the fuel tank due to a leak, and in the process also need to replace the fuel filler hose and vent line (both of which go between the filler neck and the tank).

The problem is I have been unable to find the metric hose required to finish the task. It appears the fuel filler is 47 mm in diameter (1.85 inches). The vent is 16 mm (.630 inches)

Any suggestions?

Hello Art,

I think that the fuel filler hose that you are looking for is available at fordpartsgiant.com. It's reference number 9324 in the diagram illustrated on the page.

Let me know if this is the correct hose or not

Yup - I've talked to people at both Ford and Mazda Corporate offices - all they do is point me to thrid party websites that don't have the parts I need

Thanks for the pointer to this website. The two hoses I need are shown in the diagram as 9047 and 9324. I've ordered 1-7/8" ID hose as a replacement for 9047 and 5/8" ID hose for 93124 from a marine supply house as this website lists them as unavailable. If the sizes I've ordered work, then the car goes back together. Otherwise, I'll machine some collars to get the fit I need.

Stay tuned....

Default Probe Fuel Line

Thanks to everyone for the help - I finally was able to get a length of 1-7/8" diameter hose from a local marine supply and put the system back together. It seems to be running fine. The other issues I ran into were that much of the exhaust system was rotted out and so I replaced that while under the car. There were few issues there as well, mostly due to replacement parts not being quite the same as OEM (which are unavailable). For example, the catalytic converter heat shield halves are held off the converter by tabs that extend from the converter. The OEM part has the tabs, the aftermarket parts don't - so I've got a 1.5-2" gap between the converter and the bottom of the car and I hope its enough to keep excessive heat buildup

Default fuel filler neck hose options

The place if would recommend is Filler Neck Supply Co; they have all sizes of fuel filler neck hose, its fairly spendy, but if you use the wrong stuff (not fuel grade) it will corrode and clog your fuel injectors,
its well worth the extra money.
the link is http://fillernecksupply.com
hope this helps people

Default Fuel Hose Pointer

thanks dustins -

I used marine fuel hose (which I had to strip the reinforcement from to get it installed properly, so hopefully there won't be any issues
