2002, Tbird EVAP Purge Valve
My check engine light went on, I took it to the Ford Dealer Service Dept and they said I needed a new Evaporative Emissions Purge Valve. Looking online, I found a lot of Vapor Canister Purge Valves, but the Ford Guy said I need an EVAP Purge Valve, not a Vapor Canister Purge Valve.
I can't pass the California Smog Test without one and don't know what to do, because without a current smog certificate, the car will be undriveable where I live.
HELP!!! does anyone know where I can get one?

The Evap purge valve allows the canister to be purged and the vapors burned inside the engine.
Different companies call them different names , but they are the same valve.
To provide some peace of mind. just read up a little and it will all fall into place.
A little side note, that valve could be malfunctioning , but it could be for some other reason like poor connections because certain conditions need to be met before the valve is activated to do it's job.
You can bet the dealership would do the checks before replacing a possibly good valve and you might consider that.
