I HATE insurance companies. I'm trying to help my mother. She LOVES the 1997 Ford TB. She bought one used and got lucky it was a fantastic car in fantastic condition.

Last spring some jerk who thought his latte was more important than the safety of others rearended her so hard he FOLDED HER TRUNK. She was bruised and battered but basically unhurt. She felt she HAD to have another 1997 TB. My husband and I hunted and hunted and found one. Inside it says "special edition" or "limited edition" I can't really recall which it says for sure. But I can't find any information for pricing on a either model. Heck I can't find a mention of either model. Low and behold last month another jerk runs a red light and smashes the front end. Again, she is basically unhurt but is devastated.

This model is GORGEOUS. The man who owned it previously took excellent care of it. It had TRUE dual exhaust and modified exhaust pipes (cherry bombs I think?) The insurance company says there is no such vehicle as a "special edition or limited edition" 1997 ford thunderbird. Her heart is just broken. My mother deserves better. But if she wants a 1997 Ford Thunderbird she should have it.

Does ANYONE have any information about this vehicle? I'm calling my local ford dealership next but since I won't be buying a car, I'm sure I'll get the short shrift.

Thanks for the Info Malibu. UGH this is driving me nuts, the car has to be worth more than the measly $6,000 the insurance company says its worth. I'm trying to talk her into having it rebuilt. I'll sell the rest of our Fords, our 197? something chevy blazer with the v8 corvette engine (LOL hubby would kill me first) to help her get the money to do it, but those buttwads at her insurance company should be paying for this. Its been a heck of a year for her, two car accidents, both vehicles totaled, her bf is dying of lung cancer, nothing they can do and her two ancient chow chows both died of cancer.

Sorry I'm ranting.

I think limited edition means limited to the # of cars they sell. And special edition.......ya know,crap plastic ,etc.

I Have one I am willing to get rid of 1996 Limited Edition with matching floor mats. Dont really want to let it go but I will. It is well kept and incredibly emaculate Just redid the brakes and tune up. 128k on odometer, V8. Great car I searched up and down for it. Contact me PM if your interested.
