I am looking at putting a towing package on my 08 Escape and wondering how to install the wiring harness. I want to get the wiring harness that plugs in rather then splicing into the taillight wiring. The guy at the Ford dealer couldn't tell me if it plugged in somewhere near the back or if it plugs in somewhere in a front panel. They will install it for 65 bucks, but I don't want to pay that if it is something that just plugs in near the back and would take 10 minutes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks...[/align]

 

The harness connector to add a trailer adapter plug is at the left rear lamp/chassis area..If you have the parking aidoption, the connector will be 11 wires, and non P/A will be 7.. I can give you the connector location view with the connector face with wire colors depending on the option level.. The battey junction box 'should' have thetrailer tow relays installed for TT right turn lamps, TT left turn lamps, and TT park lamps..
