1997 Taurus Transmission Filter gasket
Hello,
I'm changing the transmision filter and have the FRAM 1164A that comes witha gasket 17 bolts.
The pan has the original metal gasket with the torque limiters.
It says on the attached instruction that i should reuse it if it looks ok.
My question is should i or should i install the supplies new rubber gasket. It seems that i have some minor leaks from the existing one from my last transmission filter change.
I also noticed last time i changed the filter that the behavior of the car was much better. Previously it would kick when i place the gear from D to P. After the change, it became smooth. Then after about 20,000 mile, again the kick came back so that is why i want to replace the filter and tranny oil again.
Thanks for the help
