Hi ,I bought a 1999 ford explorer sport 4.0 that sat for 1 yr. Ford told him he needed a motor ,he said it Knocked ,He drove it Home {I saw him park it } I bought it 1 year later, I Changed the Battery - New Plugs - Click Click - Theft Light Flashes when I Turned the Key -Had a New KEY Programed {Flasing Stoped} also New Starter Click---k--Clic---k -steady sound , So I took off the belt and could not turn Chank Wheel , so I put a Scocket on a Pull Bar and moved the Crank Shaft Bolt Clock-wise about 6 Times with my Foot ,it was had but it moved as Far as I could Each Time -[Check Engine Light Comes on when I turn key also -Starter Fuse Clicke- I heard Ful Pump 1 Time when Itried to jump with V8 TRUCK , Please Help

If you remove the plugs to eliminate compression, the engine should turn over easily by hand with a socket/rachet. If you still need to use your foot, then the engine is probably shot internally. May need crank bearings/crank and so on.

I took the Plugs Out before I Tried to Turned the Crank Bolt -alos I Shook the old Starter and Heard Ratteling so I tried A new starter and Heard Fast Clicking but no Turn over ,The parts store said I have to Re-aline the Teeth -{top Heavy Mount} so the New Starter can catch ?- Is this True -
