Default 2005 F-150 Radio issue

First time posting here so i am glad there is a place to ask car questions. So anyways, the radio in the truck is the single CD player. The only thing that i have done is change out the door speakers and i used the harness adaptors from Best Buy so i did not have to cut into the harness. The issue is the radio gets feedback from something. It will sound fine and then the volume will go down and crackle but the ST light is on the entire time saying the station is tuned in. Then sometimes it comes on and there is no sound at all. Even when it is turned off, i get popping noises and a high frequency noise that is directly proportional to the engine RPM's. RPM's go up the noise gets lowder, truck shifts taking RPM's down noise gets lower also. The RPM thing also occures when the radio is working but when RPM gets over 3000 it overtakes the radio signal and it goes out. There was a burning electronic smell a few days back, radio worked the entire time but now it just comes on and there is no sound. I can change the station and it saysthe station is tuned in but no sound. I can play a CD and it works like normal just no sound. So is there any one out there can give me an idea fo where i should start looking?

Oh, i am 2800 miles out of warrantie.

Thanks,

Chris
