Default 2005 Ford 500 external temperature

Hello, the external temperature on my 2005 Ford 500 is reading way too high. It is 25 degrees outside, but my car says it is 94 while driving 55 mph. After driving about 25 minutes, the external temp will drop to the upper 40s when I park it and let it idle. This only started a couple of days ago after I checked my oil level. Did I bump something? Where is the external temp sensor located? Sounds like it is reading the engine temp? How can this be fixed? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
