2016 F-150 XLT. Intermittent wiper spray
Hi All My truck is having issues with spraying windshield washer fluid. Sometimes it will spray and sometimes not. The funny thing is I always hear the pump trying. But nothing comes out. Try it a different time, and no problems, a perfect spray. Anyone else have this problem? Could it be the pump? Maybe the wiper/signal control arm switch?

Does the wiper pump and windshield wipers run every time you depress the washer button?
If so you probably have gunk in the lines/ reservoir. You could spray compressed air through the lines to try to clear it. Then remove the washer pump and run water through it to get the gunk at the bottom of the reservoir. Thats the concern I've seen, though the ones I've dealt with the customer never said it was intermittent. It was always just inop for them.
Hope this helps.

The intermittent spraying of windshield washer fluid could indeed indicate a problem with the pump or the wiper/signal control arm switch. The fact that you hear the pump trying but nothing comes out suggests a potential issue with the pump itself or a blockage in the fluid lines. However, intermittent issues can also be caused by electrical issues or a faulty control switch. It's advisable to check the pump, inspect the fluid lines for any blockages, and consider having the wiper/signal control arm switch inspected by a mechanic to diagnose and resolve the issue accurately.
