Default 2018 f-150 5.0l

I bought this 2018 Ford F-150 5.0L with 43k on it, when I bought it I checked the oil and it was good, after running 5k miles it was one and a half quarts low.No smoke no leaks,is this normal?
Thanks for any replies.

Ok so Ford redesigned the 5.0 in 2018 so it now takes 9.0 quarts of oil. There is also TSB 19-2365 which reprograms the PCM and you get a new dip stick.
To cover all bases I would have the Ford dealer complete the TSB, that includes reprogramming the PCM, new dip stick, and oil change.
If you want to save some money you could pay the dealer to just reprogram the PCM, buy the dip stick from the parts dept(JL3Z-6750-E), then change the oil/filter yourself using 9 quarts of oil.

Thank You Scott: I’m heading to the Ford dealer where I bought it Monday morning.
Thanks again
