351W Rebuild For 92 Ford Ranger? Rings Question
Okay SO Here Is A Question For The Times lol. Found These Set Of Rings For A Some Random Motor There 0.30 Over, Now Question Is Will These Fit The 351W Piston And Piston Hole, I figure Ill Have To File Them Down. But Ring Fits In Piston Hole Of 351W Ends Of Ring Touch, Ill Upload Rings Pic Of New Rings And Old Rings Comparison. The Top Ring Is the 0.30 Over And Bottom ring Is the Old Ring , The 0.30 Over Ring Is not Too Tight In Piston Hole Suprisingly. Considering There 0.30 Over
Any Answers. Kinda Need Asap Holes Are Honed Dont Need Rust. Thanks

The way to accurately measure ring gap is to place the ring in the cyl bore , use the top of the piston to set it down square in the cyl, then measure the gap.Check it the full distance the piston goes down in the bore.
There is a specified gap to have and either file the ends a little or just get a different size ring.
If the gap is too small when heated it could cause binding and if too large could allow needed pressure to go past.
