390 internal coolant leak
just bought a 1972 f100. the man who I bought the truck from took very good care of it. new exhaust, edelbrock intake, holley carb, and so on. when he notice coolant in the oil he stopped driving it and sold it to me. I started the pick up just long enough to get it on a trailer and it ran just fine. I pulled the intake and heads. the head gaskets looked just fine the intake gaskets were ify. woundering if I should dig deep or just assume the intake gaskets were bad and put it back together with new gaskets. what else could be causing it leak internaly?

What are you going tp drop back in the Fairlane?
It was a reasonably common problem for the intake gasket crossovers to leak, and/or rust the cast iron under them.. Most times they'd bleed to the outside.. You might roll the engine over and look for any cracks in the cylinders, but the FE block didn't have a big problem there..

I got the the engine torn down that fare may as well put all new gaskets in it. that way I'll know everything is fine, but it is a good excuss to put a 428 into the fairlane. I have 2 390 67 fairlanes. thanks. I'll dig deeper in the truck engine.
