Default 74 F100, been sitting for a while.....

Well im new here and i got a question

i have a 1974 f100 360 V8 its been sitting in my backyard for a while and my dad and i want to start a "rebuild."

My question is, since it has been sitting for so long (5 plus years) what do i have to change/replace? (e.g.: oil, hoses/belts, etc)

I/We need to know what we need to do.

Thanks for any and all help

Default RE: 74 F100, been sitting for a while.....

i have a 74 250 with a 390, it was sittin for the same amount of time give or take, if you got the time and the money, and if the stuff even needs to be replaced, here ya go

new carb (gaskets dry up)
dist. cap, rotar, points, condensser
transmission main seal
gas tank dependin on if the sock happens to be full of rust
belts hoses and oil wouldn't be a bad idea either

if you go further then that, i had mine torn apart and noticed that the head gaskets started to rust away some but if you go that far becareful takin the intake off........ thats mainly what i can suggest, best way to figure out for all of that if you don't wanna do it all is to get it started and go from there hoss
