Hello all I need help please trying to get a 1984 Ford Tempo running for a friend of mine change plugs new battery spray starting fluid in carb starts and immediately dies any help would be appreciated

 

Since you mentioned carb when you look into the carb throat, engine not running of course, choke blade open, can you see any fuel squirt into the throat of the carb each time you depress the accelerator pedal to the floor? If you don't see the squirt of fuel that could mean fuel is not getting to the carb either because of a plugged fuel filter , defective fuel pump, and don't laugh because it could be out of gas!

 

I got it running it idled for 30 minutes had a power steering leak so I fixed that started working on it next day it cranked up cold with no starter fluid and idles for 15 minutes did an oil change air filter change crank car up had it at idle for another 20 minutes drove it around the block couple times everything seemed fine brought it back idle for another 15 minutes then died crank back up does not want to idle cuts out
