Default 98 contour 2.0dohc

{06/09} ground valves & seats , ck'd valve guides & valve springs , everything up to Factory spec.s After finish Head Machine Work put head [back on edge] of the Kwik-Way 044 VGS Seat & Guide Machine to ck amount of Vacuum each 'vlv.will pull' make sure Every thing is Seated correctly{no Problems Before Head[s] leave our shop ! BUT this 2.0[dohc] Ford head show'd aprox. 20 [on the Vacuum Tester] telling us that vlv.s & seats were Seated, BUT following day cust. came back w/same head telling us that the *2* cyl.s[he was most worried about] Showing him "0" Compression{again} >with compression gauge< told us that he made sure that the Lifters were OUT & Nothing was touching the vlv.s???? So if we grind ALL of the vlv.s & seats SAME why is our cust. still having problem with #2 & 4 cyl.s , we aren't talking about [2&4] being a Little LOW , we're talking about them showing "N O COMPRESSION" ???? Cust.[small 2man shop] knows that there HAS to be Some Compression NOT "0"?
PLEASE , if anybody can HELP us see what we are doing Wrong[so won't do it again] Tell us to look @ another part of this engine ?
PLEASE let us know , cust. knows that there might be another reason & not because of the head mach.work we just did {been doing Head Mach.Work} for his shop for aprox. 6yrs. with hardly any problems , this is driving us all crazy .
THANK U

Here's where I would look and perform next...

Since the valves and the head were machined true, I would start looking at the piston rings, then the block itself to determine if the block mounting surface is true. The easiest way to check these is by performing a leak-down test on each cylinder after installing the head.

The leak-down test will show where the leakage is. If the rings are bad, you will hear a hiss at the oil filler. If the intake valve is bad, the hiss will be at the intake manifold. If the exhaust valve is bad, the hiss will be at the tailpipe. If the headgasket is blown or in this case, not sealing properly, or a head is cracked, the radiator (remove the cap for the test) will bubble. If new rings were installed on the pistons, were the ring gaps off-set from each other?
