Question California (CARB) approved cat-back options?

Has anyone out there had to deal with CARB? Bottom-line: What are the cat-back options for my 1997 4.6L Thunderbird?

If I am not mistaken, if the vehicle was manufactured with certain emission control devices , you cannot remove or render those devices "non functional". Your best bet is to check with a vehicle inspection station in California for smog device tests.
