Dealer sold me an old battery!
Hello everyone. I'm brand new to this forum. I have a 2015 Mustang Roush Stage 3 that I've owned for a few years. Last fall I had to replace the battery so I went to my local ford dealer and picked up a Motorcraft battery. The battery went bad on me after less than a year. I tried to get the dealer I bought it from to replace it but turns out the battery has a manufacture date of 11/2015. They sold me a 4 year old battery! They claim to not be able to search past purchases and say that because its out of warranty there is nothing they can do. I searched hi and low and of coarse can't find a reciept. My question is is there anyway to track by serial number when or where a battery was bought or sold? Any advice would be appriciated. Thank you!

At my dealer the customer needs to have the receipt to get a battery (or really any part) warrantied out under service part warranty as per ford.
If you do make enough noise then the dealer may just pay for a new battery to make you go away but unless you are a regular customer there isnt a ton of reason for them to.
Or you could complain to ford corporate and see if they will deal with it.
