EcoMove Qbeak EV sneak peak
The Danish company ECOmove was formed in 2007 to develop a low cost and revolutionary lightweight electric vehicle. Until now the electric vehicles have suffered from high cost and low electric range when compared to the combustion engine vehicle. The EV are gaining popularity in US because of the rebates and incentives given by the different states. However, the diesel powered vehicles are still largely popular in Europe as they offer good mileage. The success of electric vehicles is still marred by the availability of a dedicated charging infrastructure. To overcome this problem many vendors and automakers are trying their best to increase range and find other solutions to replenish charging fast. An average Nissan LEAF does from 70 to 100 miles on single charge depending on driving scenarios. The charging alone takes 4 to five hours at least to cover the same amount of distance. Despite the hurdles, the EV along with hybrids and other alternative powered vehicles are likely to remain mainstay for the remainder of the 21st Century. The high rising cost of fuel coupled with the pollution problems are the reason why the companies are investing on research and development of alternate sources of energy and alternately powered vehicles.
