Expedition air conditioner problems
I have an 97 Expedition. A couple months ago the serpentine belt broke, we believe because maybe the power steering locked up, or maybe the power steering locked up because the belt broke not sure. But either way the belt was shredded. Repaired the belt, fixed the power steering now the air conditioner isn't blowing cold, plus it is making noises. We did fill it with freon, the weird thing is it helped briefly or we thought. Any suggestions as what is going on with the air conditioner.

Sure it wasn't the A/C compessor locking up orginally causing the belt to shread?
Is the compressor clutch 'cycling' ON/OFF? and if so it it rapid clutch engagements, continuous run, or at all? Could be the compressor it coming apart intenally at adding debris into the system causing restriction.. More so if your hearing excessive noises.. The A/C comp hub bearing can go bad and cause a belt slip/failure too, but usually the A/C will still blow cold.. Is the noise present 'only' when the A/C clutch has disengaged? then quiets when the clutch cycles back ON?
