f250 no start

Default f250 no start

i have a 80 f250 with a 351w out of a late 80's f150. when i turn the key you can hear the starter grinding on the flywheel. it has new starter and flywheel and still does it. any suggestions.

Are you sure the flywheel has the correct # of teeth on it? Some can be the same diameter but have smaller teeth so it wont mesh up with the starter. Or it could have the same tooth pattern and be a tad bigger/smaller. This would be my first guess if it did this from the begining.You might check the surface where the starter bolts up to and make sure it mounts flush against the hole and that the bolts are tight.

i replaced the solonoid on the inner fender and it fired right up. who wuda guessed thanx for the help.
