Default Ford Explorer or Expedition

Hi, I am looking to purchase a Ford Explorer or Expedition, and the ones in my price range are high in mileage. So I was wondering, how many miles would I expect to get out of an explorer or expedition?

Welcome...

No matter what kind of vehicle when concidering a purchase 'low or high' mileage, the most important thing would be how it was cared for, and type of 'use' it had been subjected to.. Towing, Off road,Commuter/Cityect.. Any of the more harsh uses would greatly affect the expected/remaining service life.. A higher mileage rig only, wouldn't really concern me as long as I though it had be well cared for, serviced at it's regular intervals (especially if in more severe duty applications) and documented as such including repairs done along the way.. Not sure what year, or how high the mileages you've been looking at, but one of the big ticket items for a high mileage rig would be a transmission, not oneFord's strong points, and a high mileage vehicle might be right at the critical time or at the end of its service life...A clean well treated, well cared for Explorer/Expedition should have no problems running to the high teens and more..
