Hello all i just buy a Ford Focus from 2008 the most beautiful car I had, model is manufactured in Europe. I have problem with fuel economy, my car consumes very much fuel litres/100 km or miles per gallon.

What to change first?

 

How many kilometers are on the engine? Is there a check engine light on? Is the car running bad or normal other than the fuel consumption?

have a look at the air filter first. Knock it against something (a tire, maybe) and see how much dust comes out. If it is a lot of dust replace the filter.

 

My engine has 130.000 km the car has no problem, no light on, no running bad.
I found a site where shows the real fuel consumption for Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Ford Focus fuel consumption, miles per gallon or litres/ km | Cars Fuel Consumption hear they say that the Ford Focus with 1.6 engine TDCi fuel consumption with mixed drive it's 4.7 litres/100 km, my Ford Focus consumes how they say it would have to consume with city drive 6.3 litres/100 km.

 

I had no idea you have a Diesel! i know nothing about Diesel except the first name: Rudolf.
Is your Turbo kicking in? the particulate Filter clogged?

 

Turbo it's ok, I do not think it can influence the car fuel consumption, I asked about particulate Filter and understood this you can not change, just clean it.

 

I can't seem to get a straight answer......
I have a 2008 Ford Focus SE 2.0
It has 160000 kms on it.
I have changed spark plugs, Ignition coils Air filter Changed motor oil, Cleaned MAF, Throttle body.
.There is NO check Engine light ( tested with a basic OB2 scanner as well as upper class scanner
still no codes.
I put in 19 litres of regular fuel and got 172 kms in the city.
Just trying to figure out if mileage is good.
