Pulled up tsb/recalls for my 99 cv.
Understand Ford MoCo may replace them?

Or,
Would it be possible to drill all joints and install grease fittings?

Or,
Just buy them outright from my local napa,(with grease fittings?) and install them myself, remembering to couint the rotations?

The recall was for lower ball joints on police cars only.
You don't want to drill and install grease fittings. The squeeking is metal to metal in the joint and I have seen them come apart before. Don't confuse ball joints with tie rod ends. The tie rod ends you can count how many turns they are threaded on and replace, the ball joints are pressed into the lower control arm.
