Fuel pressure test 05 five hundred
#21
We know the PCM provides the ground for each of those , coils and injectors , to operate,,, so all you need to do to verify the PCM is providing a ground for those to function, is to connect a test light to a hot source (+) (battery+) and see if the other wire on the plug at the coil and injector is getting a ground from the PCM when cranking. If the light blinks, that means the ground is getting to the injectors/ coils. IF NOT, signal comes from PCM, so need to make sure PCM has good ground connection going to it .

Thank you for reply. I have figured out how to hook up pressure gage. The reason why I want to check pressure because it will crank but no start sometime. It’s not at all the time so it’s difficult to find cause, I guess. I have replaced fuel pressure sensor, fuel pump, transfer pump, fuel filter.

Hi skrz,
If you would,
because all vehicles are not the same , it is very important to know the year, model and engine size
Some require a scan tool to check pressure because a hi pressure fuel pump may be involved .
I always ask, why do you want certain info because if we see you could be on the wrong path, we might be able to help direct you to a better path.

2005 Ford Five Hundred, 145k miles, receiving code P0191. Other symptoms involve general sluggishness, especially when trying to reach highway speeds. My car will kind of "hang" at 45-50mph and RPMs will continue to climb. Have to let off the gas to get the car to shift to the next gear.
