Default Leak In Trunk 2012 Fiesta

I have a 2012 Fiesta sedan that always has water in it when it rains. I tried everything to try to find the leak, especially checked the seals. I even got somebody to get in the trunk with a flash light so I can pour water all over it to see if the leak could be spotted and didn't work. Not too long ago I attempted to pull out the plug under the car to drain the water and accidentally broke part of the plug, I'm hoping that wont mess anything up in the future. Does anybody know what else I can do to try to fix it myself? Because I cannot afford to get it repaired at a garage and the trunk is starting to rust. Thanks.

you were on the right track. pull back the trunk liners, get back in with your light and have someone spray with a garden hose. pouring buckets doesn't work well and high pressure washers are to powerful.

have them go over the rear glass seams, rear tail lights and trunk seals. lower body seams are uncommon but another possible source.

I'm assuming your out of warranty?

You need to exercise a little patience when doing the in the trunk trick. If you follow primem's advice it should produce results. The path the water takes may take a while to reveal itself , but if it is getting in there you will see it. You may not see it right away because it may be traveling behind insulation and coverings.
If the plug is damaged where it will leak, once the water coming in leak is located and repaired you can seal it with a silicone sealer that usually can be easily removed if necessary. You could always get a new plug from a Ford parts dept.
