Default No Instrument Panel Lights

Can anyone PLEASE help me?

I had my car radio stolen out of my 1998 Mondeo 1.8LX.
In doing this, the helpful people involved shorted out the instrument panel lights (they're on the same fuse).
I have replaced the fuse but still don't have any instrument panel lights[>:]
Could this be a relay or something gone? Is there a hidden fuse for these lights that I don't know about? I don't have a "dimmer switch" for the panel lights so it isn't that gone!
I've got all the dashboard panels out for a spray job (don't ask!) and the speedo block to put in blue lights in the instrument panel etc. I have tried injecting 12v into the speedo block on the lighting circuit and the lights came on so the circuit on there is fine.

Does anyone have ANY ideas?!?

you can go to www.autozone.com and go under the Repair Information section and after entering your vehicle information you can go under troubleshooting information and under Electrical you can find wiring diagrams for the car which will help you identify which color wires are used in the circuit for the instrument panel lights. This should help you track down the problem.
