Up until the other day when I got my 96 Ranger side step inspected I thought it had 74,000+ miles on it.

But when I looked at the inspection sticker, the guy who inspected it put down that I had 107,400 miles.....??????

Right now my odometer reads just like this: 073459.8..........now how many miles would you say it has on it?

My question is this: If there's a "0" before the numbers (whatever the numbers), does that mean the vehicle has over 100,000 miles or not?

In other words, when you get a new vehicle, does it have 00035 miles or does it read _ _ _ 35?

I'm throughly confused right now. Thanks for any help you can give me.....I want to think it has 74,000 miles......not 107,400 miles. Is he crazy or is it me?

 

Your not crazy the mechanic made a mistake. At least that is what it sounds like to me. But you should go back and explain this. Because the state witch you are in thinks the truck has more mile's on it than it should.When and if you were to sell it they might try to get you for odometer fraud.
