Default please tell me its not the tranny!

99 f250 superduty, just passed 200k. Not ridden hard at all. Have had tranny serviced fairlyrecently. Today driving down road, she kicked out of gear, revved engine, went back in gear. No noises, thunks, engine sounding normal, does this a few times as i turn around and head for home. I noticed as she goes out of gear the instrument panel goes nutty, the speedo goes wacky, down to zero, up down, etc. could it be a sensor or something other than the tranny? I am clueless about cars, i just know i take proper care of her, and cant afford the tranny right now.

Speed sensor in rear end will not cause the instument panel to go wacky. Most likely an electrical issue. brithug00, what was the problem?

From personal experience, the rear speed sensor in the diff. supplies the speedometer with it's speed signal, I would suggest ohm checking sensor, if not between 80-280 ohms, replace it.

Probably the speed sensor. It may also be in the electrical but I doubt it.
