Power Window problem
03 expedition 5.4l
Help, all 4 of my power windows have stopped working. 2 rear are in 1/2 position. No leds on window rocker switches, and no power in any of the 4 windows at all.
I checked the following..
Fuse Relay R02, switched with a good one.. No effect.
Fuse #22, shorted
401 Power Window 30a Circuit Breaker. Ohmed it out. Shows Short when removed. Is this ok?
Is there another fuse panel in hood area I am missing? I have only investigated teh one on passenger side..

RE: Power Window problem
If your getting 12v out of fuse401/30amp and 22/10 amp this would mean that the cluster is still in control of the delay relay, and that the relays contacts are closed completing the distribution circuit... Have you checked for power out at the master window switch? LB/BK.. If none there, add current there from a known good source and see if the windows come back on line.. If current is there, check it with a meter or test light and see if the power drops out when the window switch is applied...

RE: Power Window problem
Thanks for the reply. My truck is 2001 F-150. The window was up when it started. I had a few other times this happen the same way. I did pull off cover to fuse box and felt the clicking coming from a black square box that was plugged in. Is that a area i need to be focused on?

RE: Power Window problem
You may be hearing the OTD (one touch down) relay clicking.. Could be the relay itself, or could be a bad window motor, panel switch, or even the GEM (generic electronic module) module.. The GEM module is in control of the OTD function.. Might try a replacement relay, but may be require some deeper more extensive circuit tests, as well as oneto prove out the window motor..
