starting hesitation
When I turn the ignition on my 95 T-bird it hesitates for about a second and then it comes on or begins to crank over. Why is this? It's probably what. Kind of wierd hu??????????? In other words nothing happends when you turn the key for about a second nothing happends. then it starts to crank over.

RE: starting hesitation
My first suspicion would be the starter solenoid. The ignition switch supplies the current to pull in the solenoid, and the solenoid contacts then supply power to the starter.
In most vehicles, you've also got a "Park/Neutral" switch between the ignition switch and the starter solenoid. If this switch goes bad, the indication is usually that you have to "jiggle" the gearshift lever to energize the starter.
