truck lost all power please help

Default truck lost all power please help

I have a 75 ford f-250 with a 460 and i went to change out the battery and the power cable grounded and the solenoid started to smoke so i replaced that and still have no power to lights wont even crank. so i jumped the new solenoid to drive it home and the radio didnt even come on but when i shut the truck off nothing worked after that please help

Check the fusable link wires..

There a smaller wire leading off the solenoid that are 'designed' to burn if the system shorts out or jumped backwards ect... Hold the fuse link wire (think they were brown) and give them a tug, the insulation will/may stretch out and snap if the link wire is broken inside the wire covering, or you may be able to see evidence of heat/melting in the wire insulation indicating the link wire is toast....
