What does it mean? Casting numbers.
Hey y'all,
I'm a nu-b to this forum, so first off let me say hi and thanks to everyone that contributes here. So much information can be gathered and tough problems figured out on forums like this.
So here's where I need help (for now).
I just got a 302 from a guy who knew a guy who got this car from a guy who swap the engine from this car... yeah, you got it.
I have the casting numbers and have looked online to find anything I can but it's still not making sense to me.
The block number is: D4DE-6015-BA
this tells me that it's a 1974 Falcon Engine, Rev. BA.
Date code from the block indicates: 5M1 or Dec. 1st, 1975
The heads are numbered: C6OE 289 M
this tells me that it's a 1966 Fairlane (with a 289 not a 302) Rev. M
Date code from the heads indicate 6H24 or Aug. 24th, 1966
So, what the heck is it? Any help would be appreciated.
