Default Windstar 01 rear elec. window not working

The drivers side rear window will NOT operate. The pass. side window does work. What can cause this and how do I fix? Thanks--Dennis.

First you need to determine if any current is getting to the motor. You need to remove the door panel and check the wires going to the motor to see if there is current when the switch is pressed. If there is current, the motor is bad. If there is no current, it is either a broken wire or a bad switch.

Question Winstar 2001 Rear Window

The Rear window on the left side of a 2001 Winstar will not work. Just stopped, no noise, did not slow down, just stopped. Can it be the fuse? Also which fuse is it in the Fuse Box?

My .2¢ ....

The fuse would be #18 under the dash on the Driver's side. However, if the fuse was blown you would have other items not working as the fuse powers the following items:

LH Quarter Window Motor, RH Quarter
Window Motor, RH Window Switch
Backlighting, RH Lock Switch Backlighting,
Master Control Switch (LH) Backlighting,
Radio, Video Cassette Player, Liquid Crystal
Display, Front Electronic Module

Either the motor itself is bad or just hung up. I've had either the L, R or both not operate a few times on my 04 Freestar. Problem was solved by placing a rag under the motor and saturating the moving points/joints with silicone spray and operating. Have worked fine for the past several years. It takes very little dirt/crud to hang up the TWIST JOINTS on these little critters.
