Vapor canister/Aftermarket intake

Vapor canister/Aftermarket intake
Alright, I put an aftermarket intake on my car, 1984 Thunderbird 2.3L Turbocharged.
When i was unhooking the stock air box its hooked up to the stock air box. My question is, is it ok to remove it completely or leave it unhooked? Because it doesnt exactly fit on my new intake. Would there be any reprocussions?
