Default 1990 F150 E4OD HARD shifting

New to this forum and hoping for some help. I have a 1990 Ford F150 xlt Lariat with a 4.9l. The trans went out as in quite working completely. I had it rebuilt and installed it. As soon as I ran the truck, it shifted unbelievably hard. I took all the plug in sensors loose and cleaned the plug ins. I than ran the truck again and it shifted fine. No problems until I ran the truck about 40 miles or so. As soon as I slowed down it started shifting hard. I got to the store and shut it off. Came out 30 min later it was shifting fine again. With in 10 min it started shifting hard. Now it does it with in minutes of driving it.
I've replaced the vss and tested the tps. .99vdc at idle and 4.5 wide open with no gaps or quick jumps. Checked codes and I get 11, 33, 65 and 99. 33 says the tps is rough?
Please help with any more ideas!
Thank you

Hi Gino,

There seems to be some problem with the codes you posted and the description of the system they involve.

To help make some things a little easier to understand, could you fill us in some?

How did you manage to get the codes?
Your description of code 33 appears somewhat inaccurate, where you describe involving the TPS (throttle position sensor), when it is supposed to involve the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation ) system..

Code 11 says system pass while there are 3 codes present. Something is not right here.
This is what I would suggest you consider.
Erase all the codes, take the vehicle for a short ride (few miles) and see what codes come up again
The 99 code if valid,. suggests a problem with the "electronic pressure control solenoid /system". inside the trans and that could point to a rough shifting concern.
It may only be a poor connection problem which you seem to correct temporarily by cleaning the plugs and connections.
What are your thoughts on all this?

Thexton inc markets a sweet litle tool to get codes , run quick tests and dynamic tests for OBD I systems like in your vehicle. The little tool # is 443. If you pull it up on google you will see it is under $25.00 and does just about everything you might need to help check your vehicle. When you do the dynamic testing with this tool and follow the instructions, you will see that your vehicle's computer runs the tests AUTOMATICALLY for you.. It will tell you if there is a problem with the EGR system and just about all the computer controlled systems on your vehicle. You might want to check it out.

I got the codes by jumping out the test plug in the engine compartment. Maybe the website that had the codes listed is incorrect. These actually came up after I disconnected the battery cables for 30min and then ran the truck down the road.
The 33 code came up twice and the 99 came up only after I ran the test with the engine running.
The shifting issue seems to be getting worse the more I run the truck and seems to be after warming up.
The old trans always had a "double shift" from second to third. It would shift into third and then would feel as if it shifted a second time and drop about 300 rpm. This is the same issue with the new transmission. The first 2-3 times it goes through the gears perfectly. Then the "double shift" and hard shifting after that.
Is the pressure control sensor (think that's what u called it) in the transmission? Should that have been replaced when it was rebuilt? Also, do you know a website that would have the codes listed for the OBD-1?

Ill get a code reader. This has been a very frustrating issue that seems to be getting worse. Which plug in on the trans would have the wiring for the pressure control?
And thank you for replying toy post. It cost me about 1000 to have this rebuilt and he has brushed me off since this issue has come up.
