Default 2.5v6 ghia

Hi New member here.Driven ford's for 20 yrs now and have just recently purchased a 2001 ghia 2.5 v6 and what a lovely drive it is only 22.000 on the clock. But fuel consumption is a bit of an issue the trip only say's i am getting 22 miles out of it. Wife drives 10 miles to work each way 3 times a wk and most of the other time is spent on short trips to town etc witht the kids. Does that milage seem about right to you guys?

Well, alawrence35, welcome to the forum.

As to your question, a little more infomation is needed. There are participants on the forum from all over the world, and we don't all have the same kinds of Fords available to us.

I'm in the U.S., and Fords here haven't used the "Ghia" name since the mid 80's I think ( and it was just used as a trim option name, not the name of an entire vehicle line ).

I'm guessing you may be in Australia or possibly NZ.

From what you describe, it sounds like you may have the 2.5 4-cam V-6 that was also used by Mazda, later bored out to 3.0 liters. Anyway, I have one one those in my daughter's 1996 Ford Probe GT. 22 mpg really doesn't sound too bad for around-town mileage.
